X-Men Films Main article: Deadpool (X-Men Movies) First Timelineĭeadpool was a villain in the live-action movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine - though this was a very different Deadpool from the wise-cracking anti-hero of the comic books, in the movie he was also given more powers than he traditionally has in the comic books - he is also mute (having no mouth to speak off) - instead of having two swords he actually has two extendable blades that can come out of his arms, similar to Baraka and was a brutal fighter working for William Stryker. On the hand, he does mention doing things his mainstream counterpart wouldn't even thinking of doing like "killing babies", though it's actually quite faithful to his earliest appearances, making this the closest incarnation to how Deadpool was originally written. However, he showed himself as a trickster and psychopath just as he has always done in the past and became a more neutral force as the story progressed. Even Spider-Man (who is ironically just as infamous for his jokes) could not stand his talking at first.ĭeadpool was part of the Weapon X crew and an antagonist in this animated special - he worked alongside famous Wolverine foes Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike, and Omega Red. This often results in both villains and heroes disliking him because of his unpredictable nature and annoyance at what they perceive as annoying antics. With this insane mind, he often breaks the 4th wall in many works he appears in, and people don't understand what he means as he is doing so. He is sometimes even willing to kill people he worked with in the past for a quick buck.ĭeadpool has always inhabited a crazy world of his own and as such really doesn't fit well with our ideals of "good" and "evil" - he can be a hero one moment and a villain the next. ![]() There is no escaping the fact that for all of his banter, popularity, and personality, Deadpool is at heart a merciless assassin and psychopath: he has killed many people who deserved it but has also been quite happy to do away with innocent people for the right price. However, because of his moral code, he (generally) does as much good things as he does bad. He is a mutant mercenary with an insatiable bloodlust and an ability to break the fourth wall, usually aware of whatever medium he is in. Wade Winston Wilson, better known as Deadpool, is a major character from Marvel Comics, serving as an anti-hero/anti-villain in the majority of his appearances. I simply don't know the meaning of the word. I now realize I've never experienced happiness. I've been willing to die for that happiness. I've fought for the happiness of everyone around me. I've tried to make these people not just safe, but happy. Later, Nightcrawler tricked Apocalypse into turning Colossus back to normal.Wait! You may be wondering, "Why the red suit?" Well, that's so bad guys can't see me bleed.Īll that peace I felt is gone. But Apocalypse sent Colossus to a temple filled with members of Clan Akkaba, who learn that the X-Man became the Horseman of War. Finally, Magik gained the upper hand in a battle with Colossus and teleported everyone back home. A massive pyramid with Apocalypse's face on it collapsed on Deadpool, which ended his time in the story. Omega World started to crumble when Nightcrawler stabbed Apocalypse, who gave the world its the lifeblood. Then, Jean Grey and Iceman teamed up to free Logan from the Venom symbiote and leave the alien frozen solid. Nightcrawler teleported Moon Knight right onto a bed of spikes, a booby trap in Apocalypse's temple, to incapacitate him. ![]() In "Apocalypse Wars," all four of the Horsemen had unhappy endings, to say the least. Logan briefly became an unwilling host of the Venom symbiote, but the heroes eventually rallied to escape Omega World. ![]() Moon Knight, powered by Khonshu, and the Venom symbiote, remained as powerful as ever. Plus, thanks to Apocalypse, Colossus' mind became as impervious as his metal body. ![]() Apocalypse gave Deadpool, who has a long history with the X-Men, the ability to spew a dangerous gas, presumably Terrigen Mist, from his mouth. As a result, the new Horsemen of Apocalypse - Deadpool, the Venom symbiote, Moon Knight and Colossus - quickly clashed with the X-Men. It was never quite clear why Apocalypse chose these four to serve him, but Deadpool and Colossus got two notable power upgrades.
